Black is Always Back...cont

After reading that article in Dwell, it reminded me that I was once on a mission to paint all of my interior doors in my house black! 

Well, that mission is back on...well, eventually.

                    

There is nothing more chic than a black door.  It is a great way to update your home that doesn't cost a lot and will completely revitalize it's look.  The only thing you have to look out for is the sheen.  I personally prefer a matte or eggshell finish...nothing too glossy.  Especially if you have really beat up doors...you will only highlight the dings.

Although it may seem like a fad...black never gets old.  And remember...its only paint!

Suit & Tie Ish...

I know I am not alone when I say..."Finally JT!"

Well, this song has inspired me...well, something else inspired me to blog and this song gave me something to blog about. 

Now more than ever, women are taking over...and rightfully so! So why not express that power in a power suit!  Just because you mean business doesn't mean you don't mean fashion!

We are still women, and our clothes should reflect that...even if we aren't showing our gorgeous stems. 

So ladies...take note...if you want to be noticed as the power house you are...run and get a tailored suit.  I assure you...you will fill more like a woman than you ever have!

TREND ALERT!

Here is an oldie but goody...Military is back and better than ever!

This is not an ode to army fatigues and heavily adorned jackets.  This season, the Military trend is more Paul Revere. 

To hit this trend on the head, looks for structured fits, belts and buckles not bells and whistles.

Go ahead on jump on the band wagon!

My Secret Childhood Dream!

So, I haven't blogged in a while and after looking for my posts, I noticed my blog has been a  little bit more fashion than form.  I had the whole idea to do some amazing home...but during my research, I found something even better...a doll house!

Ahalife.com has the most AMAZING product...a modern doll house.  When I was a child, I had the stereotypical Victorian styled doll house (which never made it out of the box).  It was always they plan to put it together...but we never got around to it.  

Although I am nowhere near having a child, I imagine that when I have a little mini me...this is the house we will be constructing in our family room!!

This has just inspired me to design my own model...i mean, doll house.  It would be the perfect time to brush up on my model making skills.

POWER COUPLES! CHARLES & RAY EAMES

We are use to hearing about these power couples, two people who join forces creating a force so strong, no one can stop them.  Most people think of Jay Z & Beyonce' but even these two have nothing on CHARLES & RAY EAMES.

These two could not be more compatible if they were designed that way.  He was a talented architect, she was an amazing artist.  With both of their strengths, they created the most amazing modern designs.

These two were at the for front of pre-fabrication and made many innovations in material usage, such as plywood.

 

Check out their collection of chairs, many which were produced by Herman Miller and their personal home, often known as Case Study, which was constructed by all prefabricated materials.
